ONEWE (Hangul: 원위, pronounced as "one-we"), is a South Korean boy band formed in 2015. The band is composed of five members: Yonghoon, Harin, Kanghyun, Dongmyeong and CyA.

ONEWE was originally formed under the name M.A.S 0094, consisting of the same five members. They released the digital single "Butterfly, Find a Flower" on August 13, 2015 under Modern Music.[1] They later released their first mini album, Feeling Good Day, in March 2016 and a second mini album, Make Some Noise, in January 2017. In June 2017, it was confirmed that they had moved to RBW and were renamed MAS.[2] One year later, RBW announced that they were to re-debut under the new name ONEWE.[3]

History

2015–2016: Formation and debut

Formed in May 2015, M.A.S 0094 were an independent group who performed and covered well-known songs in public with all profits going to charity for comfort women victims.[4] On August 13, 2015, they released the digital single "Butterfly, Find a Flower".[5][1]

M.A.S 0094 released their first EP, Feeling Good Day, on March 25, 2016. The EP contains six tracks, including the lead single "Feeling Good" and their digital single "Butterfly, Find a Flower" that was previously released.

They officially debuted on August 2 with their song "After 15 Seconds" which was performed on The Show the same day.[6][7][8][9][10]

2017–2018: Make Some Noise and survival show

On January 6, 2017, the band released their second EP Make Some Noise. The EP contains six tracks including the title track "Make Some Noise" and "Starlight".

In April 2017, Dongmyeong represented RBW in the reality television series Produce 101 Season 2. Dongmyeong later was eliminated in 68th place during episode 5.

On May 27, Modern Music published a statement on the fan cafe stating that the band were to join RBW.[11]

On June 9, RBW was confirmed that the band joined with them and would started using name MAS.[2]

MAS participated in the reality television series The Unit during October 2017. On the 7th episode, Harin (52nd), Younghoon (58th), Cya (59th) and Kanghyun (61st) were eliminated. Dongmyeong made it to the finale where he was later eliminated (15th).[12]

In December 2017, MAS joining the RBW debut project RBW Trainee Real Life – We Will Debut along with pre-debut team RBW BOYZ. MAS will performance in the concert of the project titled We Will Debut Chapter. 2 – Special Party on December 16.[13][14]

2018: Re-debut as ONEWE

In June 2018, RBW revealed that MAS would re-debut under the name "ONEWE".[3]
