Indian Idol Junior is an Indian reality television singing competition. It is a spin-off of Indian Idol. It began broadcasting on Sony Entertainment Television Asia from June 1, 2013.[1] Karan Wahi and Mandira Bedi were hosts of the show which was judged by music duo Vishal-Shekhar and with playback singer Shreya Ghoshal.[2]

A second season started on 30 May 2015. The new judges were Salim Merchant and Sonakshi Sinha, while Vishal Dadlani reprised his role as the judge. The show was hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and co-hosted by Asha Negi.

Season One

Anjana Padmanabhan was the winner.[3]

Govinda was a substitute judge for Shreya Ghoshal during an episode.[4][5]

Guests included Farhan Akhtar, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra,[6] and Bappi Lahiri.[7] Shahrukh Khan, Rohit Shetty and Deepika Padukone featured as special guests to promote their upcoming film "Chennai Express".[8]

The top 11 contestants were invited back to perform for the grand finale. Shahid Kapoor, Ram Charan and Priyanka Chopra were also present. Amitabh Bachchan gave away the first Indian Idol Junior trophy to Anjana Padmanaban.[9][10][11]

Season Two

Ananya Sritam Nanda, from Bhubaneshwar, was the winner.[12] The judges were Salim Merchant, Sonakshi Sinha and Vishal Dadlani. Shalmali Kholgade had appeared for the preliminary selection rounds, as well as for the first elimination round, after which Sonakshi Sinha replaced her.[13][14][15] The show was hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and Asha Negi.[16][17][18] Format Adapted by = Satish Datt and Ujjwal Anand
