The Dr AQ Khan Gold Medal Awards (Urdu: ڈاکٹر عبدالقدیرخان گولڈمیڈل ایوارڈز) are the official awards of Nazriya Pakistan Council and are the oldest awards to honour the distinguished personalities of Pakistan. The awards were first introduced in 2005 by Mr Zahid Malik, Chairman Nazriya Pakistan Council Islamabad and the editor of Daily Pakistan Observer Newspaper, with a purpose to recognize the achievements of those who worked for Pakistan's ideology. The first award distribution ceremony was held on 17 July 2005 at Islamabad. Since then, the awards were presented annually.

Dr AQ Khan Gold Medals are state organized honour of State of Pakistan. It is the highest decoration given to any civilian in Pakistan based on their achievements. The award is limited to the citizens of Pakistan who have done great services to Pakistan.[1]
