The 2018–19 season will be AEK Athens' 58th competitive season in the top flight of Greek football, 9th season in the Super League, and 95th year in existence as a football club. They also compete in the Greek Cup and in the UEFA Champions League. The season covers the period from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019.

UEFA Champions League

AEK Athens entered the Champions League at the third qualifying round.

Third Qualifying Round

On 1 August, it was determined that AEK Athens would face Celtic (Scotland) in the Third Qualifying Round of the UEFA Champions League. The Greek champions eliminated the Scottish side and secured a place into the UEFA Champions League Play-off round.

Play-Off Round

On 16 August, it was determined that AEK Athens would face MOL Vidi (Hungary) in the Play-Off Round of the UEFA Champions League. The Yellow-Blacks eliminated the Hungarian side and secured a place into the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League Group Stage after twelve years.

Group Stage

On 30 August, the draw for the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League Group Stage was made. AEK Athens were drawn in Group E along with Bayern Munich (Pot 1), Benfica (Pot 2) and Ajax (Pot 3).
