The humble one is the receiver; if this term is used when asking if someone else would like to receive something, it can be interpreted as supercilious.
To honor the receiver, use:
- Humble form of "to give", e.g. 差 (さ)し上 (あ)げる (sashiageru).
- Honorific form of "to receive", e.g. お納 (おさ)めになる (o osame ni naru).
