From เฒ่า (tâo, aged, old; aged person, old person) + ทารก (taa-rók, baby; infant); calque of Chinese 老頑童老顽童 (literally “old brat”), the nickname of Zhou Botong (周伯通), a character in The Legend of the Condor Heroes (射鵰英雄傳), a 1957 novel by Jin Yong (金庸).
