คู่หมั้น • (kûu-mân)

   • 1990, พระราชบัญญัติแก้ไขเพิ่มเติมประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ (ฉบับที่ ๑๐) พ.ศ. ๒๕๓๓:

     มาตรา ๕ ให้ยกเลิกความในมาตรา ๑๔๔๑ แห่งประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ และให้ใช้ความต่อไปนี้แทน "มาตรา ๑๔๔๑ ถ้าคู่หมั้นฝ่ายหนึ่งตายก่อนสมรส อีกฝ่ายหนึ่งจะเรียกร้องค่าทดแทนมิได้ ส่วนของหมั้นหรือสินสอดนั้น ไม่ว่าชายหรือหญิงตาย หญิงหรือฝ่ายหญิงไม่ต้องคืนให้แก่ฝ่ายชาย"

     Section 5 The provision of Section 1441 of the Civil and Commercial Code shall be repealed and replaced by the following: "Section 1441 Should one of the engaged persons die prior to the marriage, the other may not claim compensation. As for the engagement gift or bride price, whether the man or woman dies, the woman or her side needs not to return it to the man side."
