dừa
Vietnamese
Etymology
Shorto considers Vietnamese dừa to be "morphologically related to" Proto-Mon-Khmer *braaw (through immediate *bnraaw); yet Shorto expects **rừa. For a phonological parallel, see chuối (“banana”).
Compare 椰 (MC jia) (SV: da), itself only attested since the Jin dynasty.
