Afrikaans kampioenschap voetbal onder 21 - 1993

Het Afrikaans kampioenschap voetbal onder 21 van 1993 was 8e editie van het Afrikaans kampioenschap voetbal onder 21, een CAF-toernooi voor nationale ploegen van spelers onder de 21 jaar. Acht landen namen deel aan dit toernooi dat van 30 januari tot en met 10 februari in Mauritius werd gespeeld. Er waren 2 speelsteden, Belle Vue en Curepipe. Daarnaast werden de wedstrijden in groep B in Egypte (Ismailia) gespeeld. Ghana werd voor de eerste keer winnaar van het toernooi. In de finale werd Kameroen met 2–0 verslagen. Egypte werd derde.[1] Voorafgaand aan het hoofdtoernooi vond er 2 rondes kwalificatie plaats.

Dit toernooi was tevens het kwalificatietoernooi van de CAF voor het wereldkampioenschap voetbal onder 20 van 1993. De finalisten kwalificeerden zich voor dat toernooi. Dat waren dus Ghana en Kameroen.

Kwalificatie

De eerste kwalificatieronde duurde van 19 juni 1992 tot en met 5 juli 1992. De tweede ronde startte op 7 augustus 1992 en eindigde op 13 september 1992.

  1. Gambia trok zich in de voorronde van de kwalificatie terug. Daardoor kwalificeerde Senegal zich automatisch voor de eerste ronde.
  2. Congo werd na 1 wedstrijd gediskwalificeerd, daardoor plaatste Nigeria zich voor de volgende ronde.
