History

WAIC first went on air in February 1967, going stereo in 1985. Initially programmed from American International College. In the 1970s WAIC was a local favorite alternative to Top 40 programming, well known for disco, funk, and progressive rock. For some reason, AIC abandoned the station so it became a 24/7 relay of Connecticut Public Radio on November 1, 2011.[1] On July 1, 2016, it began relaying WNNZ.[2]
