Vysokogorsky District
Vysokogorsky District (Russian: Высокого́рский райо́н; Tatar: Cyrillic Биектау районы, Latin Biektaw rayonı) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the republic. The area of the district is 1,701.2 square kilometers (656.8 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of zheleznodorozhnoy stantsii Vysokaya Gora.[2] Population: 43,207 (2010 Census);[4] 46,323 (2002 Census);[8] 52,109 (1989 Census).[9] The population of the administrative center accounts for 6.9% of the district's total population.[4]
