Taming (shield)

A Taming is a shield traditionally used by the Moro of the Philippines. It is made of tightly woven rattan. Its origin is uncertain: various scholars suggest it comes from Maranaos, Chinese, Moluccan, or Spanish.[1] In Indonesian language, Tameng is a general term for shield.
