Nia Sharma

Neha Sharma, called by her stage name Nia Sharma, is an Indian television actress. She debuted into television by playing Anu in Star Plus's Kaali but became known for her role of Manvi Chaudhary in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai.[1][2]

Sharma's other well known characters include playing Roshni Patel in Zee TV's Jamai Raja, Alia Mukherjee in Vikram Bhatt's web series Twisted and Aarohi Kashyap/Anjali Sharma in Colors TV's Ishq Mein Marjawan.[3] In 2017, she participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 as a contestant.[4] Her current show is the fourth season of Colors TV's most viewed series, the supernatural thriller Naagin where she plays the role of a shape-shifting female serpent Brinda.[5][6]

Apart from acting in television, Sharma features in listings. She was ranked third and second in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women list published by British-based Eastern Eye newspaper in 2016 and 2017 respectively.[7][8][9]

Personal life

Her real name is Neha Sharma and she is the youngest child in her family. She did a degree in mass communication from Jagannath Institute of management sciences, Rohini, New Delhi.[10] Sharma was ranked No. 3 in 2016 and No. 2 in 2017 in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women List by British-based Eastern Eye newspaper.[7][8]

Career

Sharma had her television debut in 2010 as Anu in Kaali – Ek Agnipariksha followed by playing Nisha Mehta in Behenein. Her breakthrough came through the role of Manvi alongside Krystle D'Souza, Karan Tacker and Kushal Tandon in Star Plus series Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai in 2011.[11] It ended in 2013.

She continued her television acting journey by playing Roshni Patel in Zee TV's Jamai Raja, produced by actor Akshay Kumar,[12] where she was paired opposite Ravi Dubey from 2014 to 2016.[13][14] In 2017, Sharma starred as Alia Mukherjee in Vikram Bhatt's web series Twisted.[15] Next, she was a contestant on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi season 8,[16] which was hosted by Rohit Shetty.[17] It ended in September 2017, with Sharma finishing as a finalist.[18][19]

In 2018, she was seen in Twisted 2. Then, she played Aarohi Kashyap and Anjali Sharma in Colors TV's Ishq Mein Marjawan alongside Arjun Bijlani and Aalisha Panwar from 2018 to 2019.[20]

As of December 2019, Sharma has been playing a shape-shifting serpent named Brinda in Naagin 4 on Colors TV,[21] opposite Vijayendra Kumeria.[22]
