List of largest Chinese companies

This article lists the largest companies in China in terms of their revenue, net profit and total assets, according to the American business magazines Fortune and Forbes. In 2019, Fortune's Global 500 list of the world's largest corporations included 119 Chinese companies, with combined revenues of US$8.2 trillion.[1] That same year, Forbes reported that five of the world's ten largest public companies were Chinese, including the world's largest bank by total assets, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.[3] Many of China's largest companies are state-owned enterprises, due to the significant presence of the Chinese government in the national economy.[4]

Sinopec was China's largest and the world's third-largest company by revenue in 2014, with a total annual revenue of over US$450 billion.[1] In terms of total assets, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China was both China and the world's largest bank in 2014, with over US$3 trillion worth of assets.[2]

This list displays the twentyfive largest Chinese companies according to the Fortune Global 500, which ranks the world's largest companies by annual revenue. The figures below are given in billions of US dollars and are for the fiscal year 2018.[1] Also listed are the headquarters location, net profit and industry sector of each company.[1]

2019 Forbes list

This list is based on the Forbes Global 2000, which ranks the world's 2,000 largest publicly traded companies. The Forbes list takes into account a multitude of factors, including the revenue, net profit, total assets and market value of each company; each factor is given a weighted rank in terms of importance when considering the overall ranking. The table below also lists the headquarters location and industry sector of each company. The figures are in billions of US dollars and are for the fiscal year 2018.[2]
