Goshen Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 49.4 square miles (128 km²), of which, 49.2 square miles (127 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km²) of it (0.38%) is water.

At the 2000 census there were 496 people in 190 households, including 139 families, in the township. The population density was 10.1 people per square mile (3.9/km²). There were 331 housing units at an average density of 6.7/sq mi (2.6/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 99.80% White and 0.20% Native American.[5] There were 190 households, 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.9% were married couples living together, 7.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.8% were non-families. 21.1% of households were made up of individuals, and 9.5% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.05.

The age distribution was 25.4% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.3% 65 or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 102.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 105.6 males.

The median household income was $28,000 and the median family income was $35,000. Males had a median income of $25,250 versus $17,000 for females. The per capita income for the township was $12,255. About 10.0% of families and 17.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 20.2% of those under age 18 and 10.0% of those age 65 or over.
