"Fire" is a song by American hip hop duo Kids See Ghosts, composed of Kanye West and Kid Cudi, released as the second track off their eponymous debut album Kids See Ghosts (2018). The song samples Napoleon XIV's "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!".

Background

The track includes a short sample of the rhythm from 1966 recording "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!" by Napoleon XIV.[1] When Kids See Ghosts performed it at the 2018 Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, jets of flame shot up from the stage during their live performance.[2] The track is co-produced by André 3000 and contains a guitar passage played by him at the end.

Release

The song was released on June 8, 2018 as part of Kids See Ghosts.[3] On the day of the album's release, multiple tracks were mislabeled on streaming services, including "Fire", which was mislabeled as the sixth track on the album, "Kids See Ghosts".[4][5]
