Bagaha

Bagaha is a city and a municipality in Pashchim Champaran district in the state of Bihar, India. It is Subdivision of Pashchim Champaran district and is Police District. It is located around 64 kilometres (40 mi) away from its district headquarters Bettiah towards north-west. It is 294 km away from its state capital Patna.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[2] Bagaha had a population of 112,634. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bagaha has an average literacy rate of 38%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 66% of the males and 34% of females literate. 19% of the population is under 6 years of age. Bagaha is located on the bank of River Gandak and near the Valmiki Tiger Reserve.
