The 1896 United States presidential election in North Dakota took place on November 3, 1896. All contemporary 45 states were part of the 1896 United States presidential election. Voters chose three electors to the Electoral College, which selected the president and vice president.

North Dakota was won by the Republican nominees, former Ohio Governor William McKinley and his running mate Garret Hobart of New Jersey.
McKinley won the state by a margin of 11.92 percentage points, becoming the first Republican presidential candidate to win the state. He would later win the state again four years later.
