Warraich (Urdu: وڑائچ‬‎) are found in Pakistan and India. In Pakistan, Warraich are considered as a clan of Jat Muslims. While in India they are a lower level-caste of Sikh Jats. The people of Warraich family live in Pakistani Punjab and also in Indian Punjab. They are mostly small landowners and assimilated with Labana & Other Lower casts in Northern Western Punjab territory.

Religion

Warraichs in Pakistani Punjab are all converted from Hindu Sikh to Muslim while Warraichs of Indian Punjab and Haryana are Sikhs and Hindus.

Geographical distribution

In Pakistan, Warraich are mostly found in the districts of Gujrat and Gujranwala. They are also settled in Multan, Bahawalpur, Dunyapur Tehsil of Lodhran, Faisalabad and Sargodha. In India, Warraich are mostly found in Haryana, Patiala and Amritsar District.[1]. Nearly all of the Sikhs Warraichs were converted from Muslims in the early 1600-1700s as Sikhism expanded in Western Territory. They migrated from Gujranwala and Gujrat districts of Pakistan to India in 1947.
