Ushkonyr (Kazakh: Үшқоңыр; formerly known as Shamalgan, or Chemolgan, Kazakh: Шамалған, Russian: Чемолган) is a rural community near Almaty in Kazakhstan. It is notable as the birthplace of current Kazakh president, Nursultan Nazarbayev[1]
