Uranus is a tourist attraction in unincorporated rural Pulaski County, Missouri, along the former U.S. Route 66 (US 66).[1] Uranus's businesses include a Fudge Factory and General Store, Chicken Bones Party Bar and Grill, Fort Uranus, Escape Uranus, Skin City Tattoo, Uranus Axehole, Combat Archery Uranus, the Sideshow Museum and the Uranus Brewing Company. All the businesses are owned by one person who proclaims himself the "Mayor of Uranus". Uranus[2] has 25 residents but no formal local government and proclaims on the entrance sign, "It's Not a Town, It's a Destination."

The largest belt buckle in the world

The Largest Belt Buckle in Uranus holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for largest belt buckle.[3]

It is not everyday that a sideshow operated by a family with over 100 years in the circus entertainment business, the John Strong family, decides they want to set up their wares in one place for a residency, but that is what happened in Uranus, Missouri. After extensive curating from points all over the USA and restoration of unique wonders into The Sideshow Museum. The collection includes John Strong, Jr.'s lifetime collection of artifacts and acts, including collections which have toured since the 1800s.

History

The property that would eventually become Uranus was purchased in 2002.
