The University of Okara (UO) (Urdu: یونیورسٹی آف اوکاڑہ) is a public university located in Renala Khurd, Okara, Punjab, Pakistan.

History

In 2005, Okara campus of the University of Education, Lahore (UE) was inaugurated by the then Minister of Defence (Pakistan) Rao Sikandar Iqbal.[2] On February 23, 2016, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab passed the "University of Okara Bill 2016".[4] Following that, on April 1, 2016, Government of the Punjab issued a notification for the upgradation of Okara campus of UE to the University of Okara.[2]

Location

University of Okara is located in a 204 Acres [2] of Agricultural land on the main G.T Road 1 Km west of Renala Khurd city.[5]
