TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is a United States commuter rail corporation headquartered in St. Joseph, Missouri.[2]

Corporate History

In November 2002, Herzog Transit Services Inc and Stagecoach Group announced a corporate partnership to form TransitAmerica.[2] While both companies will continue to serve their existing clients, TransitAmerica will exclusively work in the United States.[2] In 2004, Stagecoach transferred its interest in the partnership to Herzog.[3] On May 13th 2005, TransitAmerica was officially incorporated in the State of Missouri.[1] TransitAmerica (TASI) is a sister company of Herzog.

Caltrain

On September 1st 2011, the Caltrain board of directors approved TransitAmerica to operate the system starting in fiscal year 2013.[4] The awarded contract is for five years with five one year options.[4] The first full fiscal year (2013) will total 59.5 million dollars within the projected Caltrain budgets.[4]
