The opening hours of the ticket gate are from 7 am to 19 pm, and the rest of the time must go out of each wicket once across the overpass in the same way as before the ticket gate installation. Lines

Layout

Keihan Railway

It has become a ground station with two lines relative to home 2-sided, the station building and the gate is down at home (EST). There is a ticket gate in the up home, and it leads to the station where it can go out directly to the railway stations and outside. In addition, I have contacted each other's home by underpass. Therefore, when it transfers from Sanjo direction to Jr, it goes out from the ticket gate of the uphill home, and rises the stairs to JR station building. Effective length is only up to 7-car train minutes, because both ends are sandwiched between the crossing, stretching to the eight-car train minute is not acceptable. Each train station (regular train, local Express, commuter only express stops. Kyoto Barrier-free facilities are also available as the nearest station to the first Red Cross hospital. Wheelchair-accessible elevators, ostomate, multipurpose toilets, Braille fares, and wheelchair-accessible wide automatic ticket gates are fully equipped. The elevator is outside the ticket gate, and this elevator is used for JR only use.

JR West

At the ground station with a two-sided relative formula home, I have a bridge station building. Effective length is six-car train minutes. It is classified as a stop without a branch or an absolute signal. There used to be only one single-sided home (now line 2), but it was renovated as well as Obaku station. Only one ticket gate.

On holidays in the busiest season of autumn leaves, a special ticket gate can be set up directly at the side of the railroad crossing from the Nara end of platform 2. It is a commissioned station where Uji station manages and the JR West Transportation service is entrusted with the station business. IC Card Ticket "ICOCA" can be used.

The Tofukuji which became the station station is especially crowded because there are a lot of people who visit sightseeing in the autumn autumn foliage season, and narrow the train yard.

In this case, a full-time employee of JR West from the Uji station of the Kyoto station and the management station next door is dispatched, and it strives for passenger guidance. Since the fall of 2006, JR West and Keihan Electric Railway Co., which is not involved in road congestion in the Kyoto City Higashiyama Ward, "Kyoto station → Tofukuji station → Shichijo station, Kiyomizu Gojo station, Gion Shijo Station"

I have to guide tourists to the transfer route.

On the exterior walls of the Kyoto Tower, which is also the Keihan group, "Gion and Shimizu are directly connected to the Keihan Train: Jr Tofukuji Station", and we are working to promote PR by posting a guide advertisement of the transfer route and distributing a guided map. In the fall of 2008, JR Kobe Line Tachibana station-from Kobe Station to Tofukuji station using the JR line, and then the plan ticket that assumes the route of the autumn foliage sightseeing in Kyoto direction by using the Keihan line is released to limit the use period, etc., We are working to strengthen cooperation to promote tourism in Kyoto.

In accordance with this, JR West has widened the home to rent the site owned by Keihan Railway. The number of customers in the station has been increasing due to the strengthening of the cooperation between the two companies, especially the increase of the excursion season is remarkable. On November 23, 2008, Keihan Tofukuji Station recorded the use of 48,000 people to become the best in the past. On average, the number of users per day increases by more than 10%, The number of users is more than the Shichijo station of the Express stop station. The number of users of JR Tofukuji station has also increased.

History

The station opened on April 15, 1910,

when the operation of the Keihan Main Line started. The track of the Nara Line (originally the old route of the Tōkaidō Main Line) ran next to the station, but the station on the JNR line was not made until December 27, 1957.[2]

The Nara Line station on the single track line had only one platform and no passing loop until the second platform was completed in July 1994.

The Nara Line was double-tracked in March 2001.[3]

Jr and Keihan Gates are completely separated. As a result, the shape of the middle wicket of JR was eliminated in the gate of Keihan In 2003 September 13

the ticket gate which connects the JR line descent and the Keihan line up without stairs is completed, and the use begins Year 2011 On November 6 .
