Sindh Baloch Cooperative Housing Society (SBCHS; Urdu: سندھ بلوچ باهمی رہائشی انجمن‬‎) also known as Sindh Baloch Society is an affluent gated society located in Block 12 of Gulistan-e-Johar which is a major neighborhood & residential area of Faisal Cantonment in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.[4][5][6] The society is one of the localities in Karachi where real estate activity remains on the upside despite the overall state of law and order in the city. The society is near the Jinnah International Airport.

Location and layout

The society has 650 houses with four different plot size areas R is 120 sq yds, R1 is 160 sq yds, A is 200 sq yds and B is 400 sq yds. Pehlwan Goth Road is the main road from the front entrance that connects the society to the city. The society contains Jamia Ashraf ul Madaris, Leaders (Preschool), The Inspiration School (Campus IV) and Pakistan Relief Foundation Hospital. Next to the society is Safari Comforts[7] & Ajmeer Pride apartments. Most of the grocery shops are located on the ground floor of Ajmeer Pride apartments. For security reasons, Meezan Bank ATM is located next to Jamia Ashraf ul Madaris within the society. Society is near the Acacia Country and Golf Club, Dow University of Health Sciences, University of Karachi, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Habib University, SUPARCO, Lucky One Mall, Karachi Race Club, Drigh Colony railway station, Metro Cash and Carry and Karachi Safari Park.

Jamia Ashraful Madaris

Jamia Ashraful Madaris is a large masjid-madrasa-boarding school located in the society. The private boarding school only has visiting/boarding student body which is about thousand strong.

Security

The society lies in the Gulistan-e-Johar Police Station area with Shah Faisal Town Police post at the far end of the north entrance of the society. At the east and north entrances, there are dozens of private security guards positioned with CCTV cameras who thoroughly inspect and surveil traffic coming in and out of the society for the security of the masjids. CCTV camera is provided in collaboration between the society union and Jamia Ashraful Madaris.

Construction

Entire Pehlwan Goth Road in front of the society was repaired recently and has been repaired many times before. Also high-voltage power lines and underground optical fiber cable were laid throughout the society.

Resident's Welfare Association

The society has its own welfare association named Sindh Baloch Housing Resident's Welfare Association (SBHRWA) which is a registered organization to safeguard the interest of the residents.[8]

Water problem

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board doesn't provide water to the society on weekly basis through the underground water pipe system.
