"Saturated Fat Guy" is the sixteenth episode of the fifteenth season of the animated sitcom Family Guy, and the 285th episode overall. It aired on Fox in the United States on March 19, 2017, and is written by Damien Fahey and directed by Steve Robertson.[1]

Plot

Lois shows the Griffin family a documentary called Food Kills where its host Steven McCormick – who brags that he is Matt Lauer's cousin – talks about the food industry and the dangers of processed foods that make Americans obese. Lois takes the message to heart and decides to put the whole family on a diet.

Lois's dietary dinners strikes out with Peter when he has a hard time processing the quinoa (as seen when the bouncer at Club Stomach within Peter won't let the quinoa in). When he can't get any fattening treats at home (due to Chris), he purchases some junk food from Carl at the Mini-Mart and turns it into a panini. His food draws the attention of Cleveland Brown, who is going through the same thing after he and Donna watched Tyler Perry's version of Food Kills. It also draws the attention of some strangers who pay him for the food. This inspires Peter to open a food truck called Eat My Junk. Lois disapproves of the unhealthy food he's serving, but Peter rebuffs her.

Things only get heated when Peter serves the food truck outside Spooner Street and the kids blow off Lois's dinner, which prompts Lois to throw him out of the house. After Peter spends the night in the messy food truck, Joe Swanson, Glenn Quagmire, and Cleveland express concern, but Peter insists that he is content. Peter soon becomes so fat that he can't get out of the truck to wave when the Bing Maps Car drives through the neighborhood, which Joe, Cleveland and Quagmire had been excitedly waiting for so they could "be on the Internet."

On the local news, Tricia Takanawa reports on efforts to get Peter out of the food truck. When Peter is freed finally with an excavator and a horse harness, he apologizes to Lois for rebuffing her diet and she expresses that she put him on the diet, not because she was ashamed of Peter's weight, but because she cares for his health. A firefighter hoses Peter down enough for his clothes to come off, at which point the Bing Maps Car returns and takes a photo of him in the harness. The photo is shown along with Morgan Freeman's narration:

Meanwhile, the owner of a roller derby thinks Meg's looks are promising and puts her on the roller derby team, the Quahog Thugs. At her first roller race, Meg, the Thugs, and the opposing team begin to physically attack each other, making Chris feel uncertain about Meg's new hobby. He tells Meg about his doubts, but Meg pushes on with roller derby.

At Meg's next race, when she gets injured, Chris pushes her out of the way, consequently having the other racers roll over him, severely injuring him. At the hospital as Chris recuperates and following a visit from Dr. Hartman, Meg apologizes to Chris for not listening to him. Chris tells her that he is proud that she found her true calling and urges her to resume roller skating, which she does. A narration by Morgan Freeman states that he didn't know if the Quahog Thugs won the championship as everyone left the game to see a fat kid play a dance video game.

Reception

The episode received an audience of 2.34 million viewers, a decrease from the previous episode,[2] and making it the second most-watched show of the night, behind The Simpsons.[3]
