Plot

Intro

The episode starts with Peter imprisoned in a library after driving into a rich person's mansion. While he waits for the police to come and arrest him, he starts to read American novels to the audience.

The Great Gatsby

On Long Island during the summer of 1922, Nick Carraway (Stewie) rents a small summer house. He soon encounters a party at a mansion that belongs to Jay Gatsby (Brian). Gatsby meets Nick and they go down to the dock where he says that he is in love with a girl named Daisy Buchanan (Lois). Nick states that Daisy is his cousin and sets up a meeting between him and Gatsby in his house. Gatsby arrives and takes Daisy to his mansion and impresses her with his stuff.

Soon, Gatsby is invited by Daisy's husband Tom (Peter) to his and Daisy's home for dinner, with Tom's friend Jordan Baker (Meg) and Nick also in attendance. Nick narrates that the part about him going out with Jordan which will be left out of this version. Tom insults Gatsby and soon they all go on a drive across the city. Tom stops at a gas station run by George (Joe) where he quickly sleeps with George's wife Myrtle (Bonnie Swanson).

At a motel, Tom tries to one-up Gatsby, but Gatsby tells Tom that Daisy loves her and not him. Soon after, Daisy decides to leave Tom for Gatsby, disappointing Tom. But when Daisy drives back to Gatsby's home drunk, she accidentally runs over Myrtle, killing her.

The next day at Gatsby's house, Nick and Gatsby go swimming. George appears out of the bushes and shoots Gatsby. Nick subsequently narrates the end, remembering the summer as the one where he finally put his head fully underwater.

Wrap-around #1

Peter escapes the library and hides in the attic to avoid the police officers when they come to find him. He finds a chest with a chef's hat in it upon being unable to find a pirate hat in it. When he puts it on and acts like a pirate, the cops hear him, and introduces the second story as he tries to avoid the cops.

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Huckleberry Finn (Peter) and Tom Sawyer (Chris) are best friends living in 19th Century Missouri. Huck lives with his nagging adoptive mom Widow Douglas (Lois), so he moves in with his abusive drunk dad (Stewie). After being whipped by his dad, Huck decides to fake his own death by murdering a pig (Brian) much to his objection as his character was killed in the last story. Huck then forgets why he killed the pig.

After setting up a camp, Huck meets a run away slave named Jim (Cleveland). They go for a raft ride and after surviving a waterfall, they soon meet two con artists named the King and the Duke (portrayed by Glenn Quagmire and Joe Swanson) on another raft who try to swindle them, but Jim rebuffs them.

After hitting shore in the morning, Huck finds that Jim is missing. He goes into a nearby town to find him, but reunites with Tom Sawyer. He finds Jim, who tells Huck that he's free from slavery. Jim, Huck and Tom then go to a Rush concert that night. Mark Twain appears and closes out the story.

Wrap-around #2

Outside the mansion, Peter is detained, but the cops allow him to tell the final story.

They do great at handling the pups where one of them (Brian) advises Slim not to give him to Lenny since he was killed in the last two stories. Slim gives Lenny the puppy anyway, and Lenny accidentally kills the puppy immediately.

The farm is soon visited by Slim's antagonistic neighbors Curley (Glenn) and his wife (Meg). Curley's wife comes on to Lenny, but Curley pulls her away and tries to fight Lenny, who effortlessly breaks his wrist.
