Rubonia is an unincorporated community in Manatee County, Florida. The town is known for having an annual Mardi Gras. It was briefly cancelled in 2016 but as of 2017 it's back on.[2] Rubonia was founded in 1912 and subdivided. The small community recently has been considered to be added to the Community Development Block Grant a federal program that helps communities because of the poverty in the area. Sidewalks have recently been suggested to be added here and storm water drainage and infrastructure.[3]
