Psalm 96
Psalm 96 (Greek numbering: Psalm 95) is one of the psalms in the biblical Book of Psalms. One of the Royal Psalms, Psalm 93-99, praising God as the King of His people.
Uses
Judaism
- Is the second paragraph of Kabbalat Shabbat.[1]
- Is recited on the first day of Sukkot.[2]
Musical settings
Czech composer Antonín Dvořák set part of Psalm 96 (together with part of Psalm 98) to music as No. 10 of his Biblical Songs (1894). The contemporary American Samuel Adler also composed a choral musical setting with organ accompaniment.[3]
