Podrah is a neighbourhood in South Howrah, in Howrah district, West Bengal, India.

It is a census town in Sankrail CD Block under Sankrail police station in Sadar subdivision of Howrah district in the Indian state of West Bengal.[1]

Demographics

Podrah was a part of Kolkata Urban Agglomeration in 2011 census.[2]

As per 2011 Census of India Podrah had a total population of 21,589 of which 11,220 (52%) were males and 10,369 (48%) were females.The age of 91.54% of total Population is above 6 years & below 6 years was 2,143. The total number of literates in Podrah was 17,800 which is 82.45% of total population.[3]

Podrah is flanked by Santragachhi, Green Park in the North, Shibpur in the East, Garden Reach & The Ganges River in the South and the Mullick Para Lane, Chunavati Road in the West.
