News TV Quick Response Team (shortly pronounced as QRT) is a Philippine television newscast show broadcast by GMA News TV. It premiered on August 1, 2011.

Background

News TV Quick Response Team premiered on August 1, 2011 at 4:00pm, anchored by Jiggy Manicad. QRT is different from rival newscasts in the Philippines. it is the first news program in the Philippines where the anchor is not on the studio, but on the scene of the news[1].

On January 16, 2012, it was moved to 6:00 pm due to the coverage of the Impeachment of Renato Corona.

On June 11, 2012, QRT moved at 5:30 pm.

In 2014, QRT transferred to its earliest timeslot 5:15pm running in 45 minutes.

On April 16, 2018, the program updated it's graphics (except lower thirds), title card & OBB, alongside News to Go, Balitanghali, & Balita Pilipinas Ngayon.

On April 20, 2018, Manicad announces his departure from the program after he will run as senatorial candidate on 2019 midterm election under PDP–Laban, the currently administrating political party.[2]

As of April 23, 2018, its OBB replaced by title card. 4 days later, it eventually restored and updated the OBB & title card with removing Manicad's existence. However, QRT was continuously airing since Manicad left the show. One of the GMA News reporters such as Emil Sumangil served as a new anchor for the newscast, replacing Manicad.[3][4]
