Around the movie

The movie is a remake of super silver jubilee hit 1971 Hindi film HAATHI MERE SAATHI by Rajesh Khanna, under the same banner, The Devar Films, with excellent songs by the tandem, Laxmikant-Pyarelal. This Hindi version movie did well in Tamil Nadu also.

About 5 years passed when MGR finds his partner of VIVASAYEE (another Devar Films of 1967), with the big actress K.R.Vijaya.

There is another added Devar Films, the 16th venture and last "Devar Films" with MGR.
