Munger University is a collegiate public state university located in Munger, Bihar, India. It was established by an act of State Legislature in 2018. As a collegiate university, its main functions are divided among the academic departments of the university and affiliated colleges. It has jurisdiction over six districts: Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Jamui and Khagaria in Bihar.[2] The Governor of Bihar serves as the university's chancellor.[3]

Overview

Munger University was established on 18 March 2018 after its bifurcation from Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur.[4][5] The first academic year of the university will start in 2018-19.[6]
