Muir Homes, based in Inverkeithing, Fife, is one of the largest privately owned housebuilding companies of Scotland.[1]
It is part of the J. W. Muir Group, one of the country's leading property development companies, which specialises in timber-framed construction of houses and apartments.
History
A former joiner, John Muir, set up Muir Homes in 1973[2] after leaving his position as Managing Director of Scothomes, part of Scottish Homes.[3]
Operation
Muir Group's other business interests includes a golf course, commercial property and a timber company.[4]
