A further 150 were delivered by the end of 1991, and the last units were received by the end of 1994.[45] In 2002 Turkey reached an agreement with ASELSAN Corporation to upgrade the Leopard 1 tanks, prolonging their service life by another 20 years.[46] This modernization ended suddenly in 2009 as a result of the Financial crisis of 2008 and only 170 units were modernized.[43]

It can fire up to 40 70mm rockets which come in 4 different types: anti-personnel HE, anti-personnel flechette, ant-armor, and smoke.
