Biography

Born to a Japanese-American father and a Japanese-Brazilian mother in Yokosuka,[2] Lynn became interested in entering the entertainment industry during her nursery school years. She had learned that her mother used to be part of bands, which influenced her interest in entertainment. During her elementary school years, she began watching anime; she liked in particular the anime series Detective Conan and InuYasha, whose title characters were both voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi. After learning that the characters Jimmy Kudo and InuYasha shared the same voice actor, she began considering pursuing that career.[3] When she was in middle school, she became aware of the Japan Narration Acting Institute (日本ナレーション演技研究所) in Tokyo. She asked permission from her parents to attend to the school, and they allowed her. She started going to the institute in her first year of high school; as she lived in Niigata Prefecture at that time, she would take the Shinkansen to Tokyo every Sunday for her to attend her lessons.[3]

During her high school years, she became manager of her school's basketball club. In her third year, she performed at her school's cultural festival; the positive reception she received for her performance inspired her to continue pursuing an acting career. After graduating from high school, she continued her studies at the training school, while also beginning to do voice acting roles. She initially voiced roles in Japanese dubs of foreign media, while also voicing background characters in anime.[3] After passing an audition in 2014, she played her first main role that year as the character Maya Kyōdō in the anime series Sabagebu!.[4]

In 2016 she played the roles of Lisesharte Atismata in Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle,[5] Mashiro Munetani in High School Fleet,[6] and Nozomi Kaminashi in Keijo!.[7] In 2017, she was cast as Fuuka Akitsuki in Fuuka;[8] she also performed insert songs for the series under her character name Fuuka Akitsuki.[9] She also played the roles of Himari Takanashi in Interviews with Monster Girls,[10] Mizuki Fudō in Idol Incidents,[11] Mano Rinoda in Schoolgirl Strikers,[12] and Ena Komiya in Just Because!.[13]
