The siblings' opportunity to sneak out arrives when Mel switches tasks with Rin to let her and Al venture out to the forest to pick berries, whereupon they stumble upon an injured knight from the Capital. Although Al wants to return to get medicine, Rin decides to heal him with her singing. The knight, previously in critical condition, awakens and thanks the two, introducing himself as Henry Leobort, and points them to the Capital. Before they can eagerly set off, ice spreads through the forest and separates them from Henry, trapping them in the forest. A royal soldier, witnessing Rin's healing song, reports it to their General Bazra, who burns down the siblings' village --- a task that they overhear. Returning hurriedly, Rin desperately tries to save Mel, who is near death, but is too late.

Meanwhile, Rin and Al reach a small town after a day of trekking, where they manage to get food. At an inn, the meet Pony Goodlight, a former royal minstrel from the Capital trying to pay her fees by singing, and Rin joins in with her. The innkeepers sell Rin and Pony out to the royal guards. Although Pony attempts to attack and buy them time to escape, she is knocked out until Al throws a Star Sphere, a type of firecracker bomb invention that can act as a smoke screen. He gets hurt in the process, and Rin uses her voice to heal him, directing the soldiers' attention to the siblings that promptly capture them on boats. As they are held on a different boat than the soldiers, Al uses a knife to saw through his ropes while Pony teaches Rin a Song of Wind Manipulation in addition to the Song of Healing she already knows. Together with the Star Spheres and Rin's song, they successfully defeat the soldiers.

At the palace, Henry and Finis grow close after he protects her from assassins again, although her maid Corte goes missing in the process. Prince Rūdo, gleeful at the army's success, threatens Finis to use Spirit Songs to kill the enemy troops in one fell swoop, unless he kills Henry.

In a forest, Rin, Al and Pony are forced to run for their lives. Although Pony strongly discourages Rin from chasing her dream of singing with the Royal Orchestra, Rin refuses to give up after having promised Mel to live her dream. As they search for a wagon to hitchhike on, they come across one transporting weapon parts along with a pair of female rhythmists, troops that help raise soldiers' morale and increase productivity. The girls are thrown out when the wagon hits a rock though, and introduce themselves as sisters Monica and Allu. Rin argues with the sisters and stops by an inn to eat and stay the night on their journey to the Capital. There, she meets them again, who are revealed to be the daughters of the blind innkeeper. Pony realises that the sisters are lying about being a part of the Royal Orchestra when they are only mere rhythmists in the army as they need money to buy medicine for their mother's eye treatment --- an option they chose instead of chasing their dreams. Pony, Monica, Allu and Rin connect as they sing and produce music together, inevitably healing the innkeeper's blindness.

With the Song of Wind Manipulation again, they manage to fly over the Capital gates and escape as Henry holds the guards off.

In the meanwhile, Finis explains the details to Corte that she loves Henry and didn't want him to be killed. So Corte decided to go into the forest to pick up items when she returns Finis is gone. Rin, however, wishes to find Finis and sing for her, in hopes that she can save anyone and everyone. While scrounging about the place, Al finds a mysterious box that can only be unlocked with a 5-dial password combination, and deduces that the password is 'Finis' despite Dr. Weisen's claims to not know her. In there, they find the weapon parts in the wagon Monica and Allu were previously riding on, which Dr. Weisen reveals to be echoing devices designed to amplify and storing the power of the Songstress and relax the burden on her. However, because he refused to cooperate with his machines being used for killing, the army seized all his research and sunk his entire laboratory, in addition to killing his research, it also killed his fellow inventors and Dr. Weisen's own hope. Rin tells him that although she also suffered losses she will continue singing, restoring his laboratory for him by evaporating all the water. As gratitude, he offers Al to stay and be his assistant.

This plan backfires when the Prince figures it out and forces Corte to drink it instead, killing her for good. When morning arrives, Finis prepares to leave and meet up with Henry, only to bump into the Prince. He begs her to use her voice one last time to burn traitors, but she accidentally kills Henry himself instead. 08"The Song of Eternity"May 19, 2018
In another world, a famous scientist and researcher named Henry Leobort predicts that the Moon, with its recently unusual orbit, will crash into the Earth in about another 60,000 years. After his presentation, he meets Finis, who tells him about how she was a songstress blessed with the power to make miracles, until she used that power to kill the one man she loved. In her despair, she sang the forbidden Song of Destruction she had been composing, and reset the world, rendering her immortal. However, she endured sufferings from constant resettings again and again in hopes she could reunite with the one she loved with the exact same personality and self. Finis ends her talk with a line that delivers that he was the person she loved all this time. To end everything, she plans to sing the Song of Destruction once more at the annual Starsong Festival, a festival where people sing to the stars to grant their wishes, when the Moon is at its closest to the Earth. Returning to Rin's time --- the present ---, Finis has destroyed everything but them.
09"The Song of Nostalgia"May 26, 2018

In the present, Rin overhears that Finis has only been seen by several soldiers, one of whom is General Bazra that is currently abusing his power through his usage of her as a war weapon and the echoing devices created by Dr. Weisen. Although Bazra had agreed for Finis to sing her song during the Starsong Festival with the Royal Orchestra in exchange that she act as a weapon in his world domination plan, he plans to destroy the orchestra. Hiding behind the rubble, Pony concocts a daring plan for her, Monica and Allu to pretend in bringing Finis to the soldiers while using an echoing device containing the Song of Wind Manipulation, hijack the song-playing weapon stolen from Dr. Weizen, and use the ensuing chaos to save the real Finis. Their plan backfires when Monica, pretending to be Finis, is the only one allowed into the machine and subsequently falls asleep out of fear.

Meanwhile, Rin touches the remnants of Henry's sword containing dark spirits, transporting herself into Finis' past. There, she discovers how Finis, after burning Henry, abandoned her feelings for him and the Song of Healing -- a song that represented hope. That song then reincarnated into herself, Rin, and she was found by her grandfather Talgia serving in the army at that time.

Before it's too late, Rin ultimately reaches Finis, successfully moving her to believe that the world deserves to be saved, and that she can still hope to find happiness. Thanks to Pony, which reveals being the heir princess Alea Golt, the Royal Orchestra and Rin's Orchestra support Rin and Finis in performing the Lost Song, which is the union between Finis' Song of Destruction and Rin's Song of Healing. In this way, when the moon finally crumbles over Earth, the Lost Song's power successfully resets the world for better, saving everyone, while Bazra is ultimately killed by Leobort with Al's support.
