Leland G. Christensen is a Republican member of the Wyoming Senate, representing the 17th district since 2011.[1] He is currently a candidate for the office of Wyoming State Treasurer.

Elections

2010

After incumbent Republican Senator Grant Larson announced his retirement, Christensen - then a Teton County Commissioner - announced his candidacy. He defeated Sam Harrell in the Republican primary and defeated Democratic candidate Tom Frisbie in the general election, 52% to 48%.[2]

2014

Christensen was re-elected to the State Senate unopposed in both the primary and general elections.[2]

2016

Christensen announced his candidacy for the U.S. House seat held by Cynthia Lummis after Lummis announced her retirement.[3] He is one of nine Republican candidates, including State Representative Tim Stubson and Liz Cheney. The primary election was held August 16, 2016 with Cheney winning the primary.

2018

Christensen is currently running for the Wyoming State Treasurer position being vacated by incumbent Mark Gordon. Leland is a conservative Republican.
