Affie Ellis is an American politician and a Republican member of the Wyoming Senate representing District 8 since January 10, 2017.[1]
Career
Ellis is a former Assistant Attorney General of Wyoming. She currently owns Steamboat's Steak and Smokehouse and Ellis Public Affairs, both of which are located in Cheyenne.[2]
Ellis is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation. The first Native American to sit in the Wyoming State Senate, she is the third to be elected to the state legislature overall.[3]
Elections
2016
Ellis ran unopposed in the Republican primary. She defeated incumbent Democrat Floyd Esquibel in the general election with 61% of the vote.[4]
