Lauren Howe (born July 10, 1993) is a Canadian engineering graduate, actress, entrepreneur, sports personality, model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Teen Canada World 2011 and also Miss Universe Canada 2017. She represented Canada at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant which was held in The AXIS, Las Vegas, Nevada on November 26, 2017[1] and she became a top 10 finalist.

Early life

Howe was born in Toronto, Ontario. Lauren is of French and German background. She played field hockey for Team Ontario and represented Canada in a tournament at Sydney Olympic Stadium. She also has volunteered internationally in India, Ghana, and Peru.

She went to high school at Appleby College, a private school in Oakville Ontario. She began studying Biomedical Engineering at McGill University before transferring to the University of Toronto for Industrial Engineering. During her program, she assisted in designing sanitation facilities in India.[2] She graduated in 2016 and was recognized by the university as one of "Ten Female Students to Watch".[3]

In 2014, she appeared on TSN and shortly after became the In-Arena Host for the Toronto Maple Leafs for two seasons[4]. She has also hosted at events including the IIHF World U20 Championship, Canadian Women's Hockey League All-Star Game, 2015 Pan American Games, Canadian Open (tennis) and Invictus Games. After graduating, she worked in sales strategy at adidas Group Canada then as a technology consultant before leaving to start her own business in 2017.

As a child, Howe modeled with Ford Models and later signed with Elite Model Management.

Miss Universe Canada 2014

Howe joined Miss Canada 2014, where she finished as the 2nd runner-up to the crowned queen Chanel Beckenlehner and also won the Best Hair award.

Miss Universe Canada 2017

Howe was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2017 on October 7, 2017 and competed at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant in Las Vegas in November.[5]

Howe represented Canada at Miss Universe 2017 where she placed Top 10.
