John J. Viola[1] (born June 1, 1950) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives since January 12, 1999 representing District 26.[2]

Education

Viola earned his AS in business management from Goldey–Beacom College.

Elections

  • 2012 Viola was unopposed for both the September 11, 2012 Democratic Primary and the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 7,476 votes.[3]
  • 1998 Challenging incumbent Republican Representative Richard F. Davis, Viola was unopposed for the September 12, 1998 Democratic Primary and won the November 3, 1998 General election with 1,897 votes (51.3%).[4]
  • 2000 Viola was unopposed for the September 9, 2000 Democratic Primary and won the three-way November 7, 2000 General election with 6,054 votes (74.0%) against Republican nominee John Megahan and Libertarian candidate Andrew Gregg.[5]
  • 2002 Viola was unopposed for the September 10, 2002 Democratic Primary and won the November 5, 2002 General election with 3,123 votes (95.9%) against Independent J. Oliver Lannak.[6]
  • 2004 Viola was unopposed for both the September 11, 2004 Democratic Primary and the November 2, 2004 General election, winning with 6,255 votes.[7]
  • 2006 Viola won the September 12, 2006 Democratic Primary with 381 votes (58.5%)[8] and won the November 7, 2006 General election with 3,795 votes.[9]
  • 2008 Viola was unopposed for the September 9, 2008 Democratic Primary and won the November 4, 2008 General election with 6,316 votes (79.9%) against Republican nominee Jeremy Filliben.[10]
  • 2010 Viola was unopposed for the September 17, 2010 Democratic Primary and won the November 2, 2010 General election with 4,819 votes (96.7%) against Republican nominee Hans-Erik Janco.[11]
