Salvador has sang for Disney, won Philippines Most Promising Female Star at GMMSF, a FAMAS Award, three PMPC Awards and garnered a platinum record album.
Early life
Salvador was born in Cebu and raised in San Juan City.[2]
She is the daughter of West End musical actress Jenine Desiderio (Miss Saigon in 1992) and Juan Miguel Salvador, the lead singer of 80s group, Rage Band.[3] Her father is an Awit Award-winning songwriter and has credits such as True Faith's Sumasarap Ang Gising and Regine Velasquez' Light In The Dark.[4][5][6][7] Her parents separated in 2002. She is the great grand niece of basketball player Lou Salvador.[8]
Career
Early career
Like her parents, she has interest in performing arts and started singing at a young age.[9]
Salvador appeared in stage plays and was scouted after guesting on Eat Bulaga's Sa Pula, Sa Puti. Management directors Manny Valera and Star Magic's Johnny Manahan signed her a contract as their talent.[10]
Between 2008 and 2009, she represented the Philippines in a world trade fair in Seoul, Korea and was part of Meralco Theater productions including the musical Paul! Paul![11]
Her official screen debut came in Be Careful With My Heart. A daytime drama airing from 2012 to 2014, it rated as one of the most successful dramas of ABS-CBN[12][13][14] with Salvador's character as middle daughter Nikki Grace Lim widely known for her Coño catchphrases.[15] Salvador won the 27th PMPC Star Awards for Television for Best New Female Personality and the FAMAS Award for German Moreno Youth Achievement Award[16][17] and became one of the youngest faces of Garnier skin care.[18]
Her first music project Mahal Kita Pero was released on August 31, 2014 as part of Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs. Salvador won 3rd Best Song.[19][20] Salvador signed film contracts with Regal Entertainment and Star Cinema, both in 2014.[21][22]
The same month of Be Careful's last episode, Salvador was nominated Best Appearance in a Music Video after playing the love interest in Enchong Dee's Chinito Problems which was released November 7, 2014 on Myx.[23][24]
Lead roles and music
ABS-CBN in 2015 cast Salvador in her first leading role in Oh My G! as Sophie, an orphan teenager who blames God for the loss of her loved ones, until G ("God", various actors) appears to her in different forms to enlighten her.[25]
On July 1, 2015, Salvador released her eponymous debut album. The album peaked at number one for three weeks[26][27][28] and became a platinum record for selling over 15,000 physical copies.[29] She won 8th PMPC Star Awards for Music Best New Female Recording Artist. Salvador recorded "Happily Ever After" for Hong Kong Disneyland in October 2015.[30] Her film debut Haunted Mansion became a top grosser in the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival and won her the 32nd PMPC – New Movie Actress of the Year.
Salvador was cast alongside Elmo Magalona in the 2016 music drama Born For You. Based on two singers who are destined to fall in love through the Japanese red string of fate, the series peaked at 20.1% via Kantar TNS[31] and the soundtrack, which included Salvador's first Japanese language singles, 夢ダカダ Yume daka da and アナタ Anata, topped iTunes Philippines.[32][33]
She appeared in duets with her co-stars, Marlo Mortel ("Mananatili" for 2016 Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs)[34] and Elmo Magalona ("Alam Mo Ba" in his album Elmo).[35]
Following her Disney in Concert performance at Kia Theatre Cubao, Salvador was picked alongside other singers from Southeast Asia to sing a native language of "How Far I'll Go" from Moana.[36][37][38] Her version released by Walt Disney Studios currently holds 38 million views, the highest viewership amongst all the Asian remakes on YouTube. Disney's Vevo channel has since monetized the video.[39] Salvador was cast as a sexually-assaulted teen in the 2016 year-end film, Mano Po 7: Tsinoy.[40][41][42]

Her interpretation of the Karlo Zabala-penned song "Wow Na Feelings" won 4th Best Song and TFC's Global Choice Award.[46]
