Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? 3 (English: What Name Shall I Give to This Love? 3) was an Indian Hindi romance drama finite[3] television series that aired on Star Plus from 3 July 2017 to 6 October 2017. The show starred Barun Sobti[3] and Shivani Tomar[4] in the lead roles of Advay and Chandni, and Ritu Shivpuri played the central antagonist as Chandni's mother Indrani.[5][6] The story is set in Allahabad and Mumbai in the same world as another Star Plus show, Ishqbaaaz.[5] It is the third incarnation of the Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? franchise made by 4 Lions Films. The show went off air on 6 October 2017 completing 70 episodes.[7]

Plot

The show is the story of two childhood friends Dev and Chandni, set in Allahabad. Dev's father is the chief priest of a temple known for its hidden treasure. Dev's father is charged of changing the idol's jewelry and Dev's mother is accused of being a witch. Dev's parents are killed by a mysterious person after which Chandni's father becomes the Mahant. Dev is forced to run away with his younger brother Meeku. While travelling by train, Dev throws his brother out to save him from the mob.

16 years later, Dev has returned to Allahabad disguised as Advay Singh Raizada. Holding Chandni and her family responsible for what his family had to go through and his separation from his brother, he has returned to take revenge. He buys the house the Vashishts are living in but lets them stay. Chandini's wedding has been fixed to a sleazy boy because his family is going to pay off her stepmom's debt. Advay saves her from the sleazeball every time, but also insults her, showing that he is not really a hero after all. Chandni is confused about why he hates her so much. He breaks up her wedding and forcibly marries her by blackmailing her that he will reveal the truth of her child born out of wedlock, currently in an orphanage. Chandni agrees to save the respect of her family but doesn't tell Advay that the child is actually her sister's.

Advay exposes this anyway in order to spoil the Vashist family's reputation. He throws them out of the house and his grandma shelters Chandni. Advay's grandma believes Chandni's innocence and believes only her capable of removing the hatred in his heart to bring back the real Dev. She asks Chandni never to leave him no matter what happens, an unfair demand as Advay can be emotionally abusive and misogynistic. The truth finally comes out front of Chandni and Advay. Chandni arrests her mother and seeks out Meeku, reuniting him with Advay. The story ends with Advay accepting Chandni as his wife.
