The Hunter 260 is an American trailerable sailboat, that was designed by Rob Mazza and the Hunter Design Team and first built in 1997.[1][2][3]

The boat was built by Hunter Marine in the United States between 1997 and 2005, but it is now out of production.[1][4]

The Hunter 260 is a development of the Hunter 26.[1]

Design

The Hunter 260 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It is a fractional B&R rigged sloop, with a transom-hung rudder and a folding centerboard keel. It displaces 5,000 lb (2,268 kg) and carries 2,000 lb (907 kg) of water ballast.[1][2]

The boat has a draft of 6.00 ft (1.83 m) with the centreboard extended and 1.75 ft (0.53 m) with it retracted, allowing beaching or ground transportation on a trailer.[1]

The boat is normally fitted with a small outboard motor for docking and maneuvering. The fresh water tank has a capacity of 20 U.S. gallons (76 L; 17 imp gal).[1]

The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 213 with a high of 220 and low of 206. It has a hull speed of 6.46 kn (11.96 km/h).[2]
