Harshvardhan Singh Dungarpur (born 6 June 1956 in Bikaner Rajasthan) is an Indian politician. He is a Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan belonging to the [[Bharatiya Janata Party {BJP}]].

Personal life

He is the only son of the present Maharaja of Dungarpur, Sri Mahipal Singhji. So he is the crown prince of Dungarpur. He has two daughters. Elder daughter (Shivatmika) is given in marriage to Jaideepsinhji, the crown prince of Rajkot. Younger daughter (Trishika) is the Maharani of Mysore. She is the wife of Maharaja Yaduveer Wodeyar, the Maharaja of Mysore.

Politics

Harshvardhan Singh is member of Bharatiya Janata Party, elections to the Rajya Sabha were held and his party made him a candidate from his home state, Rajasthan. He secured 40 votes in the Rajasthan state assembly and won the election to the Rajya Sabha. This happened just at the time when his second daughter's wedding ceremony was being held, and so the period was most happy and auspicious.
