Hajipur Junction, station code HJP, is a railway station in the Sonpur division of East Central Railway. Hajipur Junction is located in Hajipur city in Vaishali district in the Indian state of Bihar.

Administration

It is the headquarters of the East Central Railway Zone of the Indian Railways.[1]

Lines

Three rail lines connect it to Muzaffarpur, Chhapra and Patna (via Sonepur) and Barauni.

Infrastructure

There are 5 platforms that are interconnected with 2 foot over bridges (FOB). Facilities include Waiting rooms, computerized reservation facility. A video conferencing inquiry counter has been made available for passengers. There is an air-conditioned waiting hall and dormitory facility for the passengers to stay at night or during short visit to Hajipur.[2] A new entry point has been constructed and commissioned on north side in addition to previous one on south side. This Railway Station is also equipped with RailTel WIFI facility provided by joint venture Indian Railway & Google .
