Guru Sishyulu (English: Teacher-Student) is a 1990 Telugu action comedy film produced by M. Purna Prakash and S. Sambasiva Rao under the Srilatha Art Productions banner and directed by S. P. Muthuraman. It stars Krishnam Raju, Rajendra Prasad, Sumalatha and Kushboo in the lead roles, with music composed by Ilaiyaraaja.[1] The film is a remake of the Tamil movie Guru Sishyan (1988), which itself was a remake of the Hindi film Insaf Ki Pukar (1987). The film was recorded as a Super Hit at the box office.[2]
Plot
Raja (Krishnam Raju) and Babu (Rajendra Prasad) are thieves and best friends who are in jail under punishment, one day they meet a guy, Manohar (Maharshi Raghava), who is going to be hanged the next day. Manohar wants to meet Raja and Babu as his last wish and tells them his story that his sister Sumathi (Sudha) was kidnapped by a Taxi driver and raped by a rich man Muddu Krishna (Sudhakar). He, his elder brother Raja Shekaram (Rama Krishna), his friend Jairam (Gollapudi Maruthi Rao) and Inspector Paramasivam (Kota Srinivasa Rao) trapped him in the murder case of the taxi driver and from that his parents are also missing; Raja and Babu promise Manohar that they will save him and postpones his hanging by breaking his hand. Next day, when they are released from jail, they start their trials to protect Manohar, first of all, they trap Inspector Paramasivam and keep him in their grip, with his help, Raja joins as a bodyguard for Muddu Krishna and Babu traps Raja Shekaram’s daughter Chitra (Kushboo) into his love. Raja loves Paramasivam’s daughter Inspector Geeta (Sumalatha). In this process, they come to know Manohar’s parents are kidnapped by Raja Shekaram and Jairam only because his father Narayana Rao (Hema Sundar) knows a secret of a treasure. Raja recognizes that Manohar’s parents are his parents, from whom he was separated in childhood and Babu recognizes Narayana Rao as the killer of his parents. There arises a clash between Raja and Babu which calms down after knowing the truth that real culprit was Raja Shekaram, who killed Babu’s parents by wearing a mask of Narayana Rao. Finally, Raja and Babu see the end of all culprits, protect the treasure and save Manohar from hanging.
