The First Battle of Chamkaur was fought between the Mughal Empire and the Sikhs in 1704.
The battle
After the Mughal defeat at the Battle of Basoli, the Raja of Kahlur state asked two Generals, Saeeid Khan and Alif Khan, to attack Guru. According to historian Hari Ram Gupta, the "Raja of Kahlur promised to give one thousand rupees each day."
Guru encamped at Chamkaur. General Saeeid Khan had heard about Guru's personality and after seeing Guru he was so impressed that he changed sides and joined Guru's force.[2] When Alif Khan and other officers saw this, they left the battlefield and retreated to Delhi.[3]
