The Battle of Jammu was a surprise attack launched by Mughal under General Muhammad Amin Khan, the Sikhs were pursued all the way to Jammu by the Mughal forces. At Jammu, the Sikhs in the absence of Banda Bahadur were executed due to the betrayal given by Jammu king Raja Dhruv Dev (1707-1733), whose father Raja Gaje Singh (1692-1707) supported Aurangzeb during the battles with Guru Gobind Singh.
