Edgbarrow Woods
Edgbarrow Woods is a local nature reserve between Little Sandhurst and Crowthorne, on the grounds of Wellington College, in Berkshire, England.[1] The nature reserve is owned and managed by Wellington College.[2]
Geography and site
The reserve is 36.8 hectares (91 acres) in size.[1] This site contains many habitats, including semi-natural high forest, wet and dry heathland and acidic, unimproved, lowland grassland.[2]
History
The area has royal associations, being a former royal hunting ground created in the 11th century by William the Conqueror.[3]
In 2002 the site was declared as a local nature reserve by Bracknell Forest Borough Council.[2]
